What this app does

artists.org.nz is a web application that lets artists and art-space coordinators create accounts, build public profiles, list exhibitions and events, manage artworks and venues, and reach audiences across New Zealand. Visitors can browse artists, galleries, trails, expos, and shop-style listings without an account.

Accounts & Google Sign-In

Artists and gallery owners can register with an email and password, or continue with Google. When you choose Sign in with Google, we request your Google account email address and basic profile information (name and profile photo). We use that data only to create or sign you into your artists.org.nz account and to personalise your dashboard — we do not sell it or use it for advertising.

Mission

New Zealand is home to world-class creative talent, but finding regional trails or independent makers is often scattered across dozens of local websites. artists.org.nz exists to bring that discovery into one national hub.

We make it easier for people to find and connect with artists and creative organisations — directory listings, open studios and trails, expos, and shop-style discovery so audiences can plan visits, learn about practice, and support makers in their communities.

For gallery owners, the platform is also a place to discover and promote talent, showcase exhibitions, and bring new visitors through your doors.

Regional partners

We work with Creative Northland, who curate the artists and galleries in their region. Listings managed here are also displayed on the Creative Northland site, so Northland makers and venues reach audiences on both platforms from a single profile.

We hope to work with Creative NZ and the regional creative bodies across the country in the same way — one shared source of truth for artists and galleries, with each region presenting work in its own voice. If you represent a regional organisation, we would love to hear from you.
