Terms of Use
Last updated: 11 May 2026. These terms govern your use of artists.org.nz. Please read them with our Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
artists.org.nz (“the site”, “we”, “us”) is operated as a creative directory and community platform for Aotearoa New Zealand. Contact details are on our Contact page.
2. Accepting these terms
By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date will change and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
3. Accounts and eligibility
Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep credentials confidential, and notify us if you suspect unauthorised access. You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to register, or use the site under supervision of a parent or guardian where applicable.
4. User content and conduct
You are responsible for content you submit (for example profile text, images, or messages). You must not upload unlawful, misleading, defamatory, harassing, or rights-infringing material, or attempt to disrupt the site or other users. We may remove content or suspend access where we reasonably believe these terms or the law are at risk.
5. Intellectual property
The site’s branding, layout, and original text belong to us or our licensors. Artists and partners retain rights in their own listings and media, subject to any licence you grant us to display that material on the site and in reasonable promotion of the service.
6. Third parties and listings
Directory and event information may come from users or partners. We do not guarantee completeness or accuracy of third-party listings. Verify details (dates, prices, access) with the organiser or artist before relying on them.
7. Disclaimers
The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We disclaim implied warranties where allowed. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited (including under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies to consumers).
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the site in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of NZD 100 and the fees you paid us for the service in that period (if any), except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Courts in New Zealand have non-exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have in your home country.
This page is a practical template for a creative directory. You should have a lawyer review and adapt it for your entity, revenue model, and risk profile before relying on it commercially.
