Greg Barron.
Ceramic Artist / Potter spanning more than fifty years. Attended Wellington Polytechnic 1966 and began working as a potter in 1972 with Mirek Smisek at TeHoro. For a time worked with Yvonne Rust at Parua Bay, Northland. Has history of exhibiting in the Fletcher Challenge Ceramic Award, New Zealand Potters Exhibitions, The Portage Ceramic Awards and the Sydney Myer Fund International Ceramics Award, Australia. Has been awarded on numerous occasions and been assisted by Creative New Zealand to work internationally amongst other artists, both in China, Australia and the USA. His work is held in the Australasian collection in Fuping and the Shanghai Craft Museum. Over the past fifteen years he and his wife, Jin Ling, have established “Glenbervie Pottery” in a rural setting near Whangarei in Northland.
