Judy an artistic photographer, has always been inspired by the ocean and it was while living in Muriwai that she honed her craft of expressing the moods of the ocean and it’s edges with her camera. Judy now lives in Northland on a remote clifftop overlooking Ripiro Beach where her love affair with the ocean’s edges and creativity continue. She loves the technique of Intentional Camera Movement (yes simply moving your camera as you take an image) and find it suits her impatient & free spirited character as well as simplifies scenes resulting in an evocative and artistic expression that looks more like a painting than a photograph. Judy also often expresses her love of the wildness of the New Zealand and it's wildlife in a more traditional photographic style, yet still equally as evocative as her creative work.
Judy is enthusiastic about sharing her techniques and gives photography workshops around New Zealand, Australia and more recently in Northland from her wild seaside clifftop. She has won awards nationally and internationally for her work...and has images enjoying homes around the world.
