Max Daillecourt is a painter and drawer based in Northland's Far North. Originally from Zimbabwe, he has made Kerikeri his home for the past 23 years. After studying art to A Level, he set creative work aside for other pursuits until retirement, when he returned to painting. Working primarily in acrylics, he favours impressionism for its freedom, vibrancy and emotional depth. His paintings often depict imagined gardens and still life scenes, combining memory with creativity in expressive, textured brushwork. The return to art has proved both grounding and liberating, with each piece reflecting a personal exploration of colour, form and feeling.
